Visit the breathtaking cliffs of Meteora
Meteora, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage, is a rock formation in central Greece, hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, second in importance only to Mount Athos. The six monasteries are built on immense natural pillars and hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the local area. Meteora is located near the town of Kalabaka at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios river and Pindus Mountains.
Visit Skopelos, the forested green and blue island
Skopelos is one of several islands that comprise the Northern Sporades island group in the western Aegean Sea, east of the Pelion peninsula and north of the island of Euboea. Skopelos is also the name of the main port and the municipal center of the island.
It is no wonder that the island has been characterized as “The Green and Blue Island”, since 80% of its territory is covered by dense pine forests that end in coves, ports and beaches of incomparable beauty. The green of the pine and the dense forests blend in with the deep blue of the sea and sky.
